“Help provide a better vision to indigent Filipinos nationwide” This is the message that Robinsons Malls imparted to Cebuanos during the Cebu leg of Robinsons Malls’ The Gift of Sight. With the able assistance and support of DSWD and optometrists, The Gift of Sight project was able to provide free eye screening free eyeglasses to indigent residents from 7 barangays in Cebu. Aside from the free screening and eyeglasses, these residents from barangays Sta. Cruz, Capitol, Tejero, Carreta, Mabolo, Paknaan, Mandaue and beneficiaries of the Sacred Heart Parish Ladies Association were also given a lecture on hygienic practices to prevent eye diseases and proper eye care to avoid more eyesight problem which eventually may lead to blindness. “The satisfaction of providing an opportunity for better eye sight to our Filipino brothers and sisters continue to inspire the men and women behind The Gift of Sight project,” says, Ms. Roseann C. Villegas, director for Corporate Public Relations, Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC). The Gift of Sight was launched last year. To date, over 2,000 pairs of eyeglasses have been given to beneficiaries in key cities and urban areas in Metro Manila in several provinces in Luzon and Visayas.
