Who do you look up to for inspiration or mentorship?

I look up to my mother for inspiration. My mother has gone through so many challenges in life, including losing my dad and my younger sister, but her strength and faith in God truly inspires me. At work, I look up to our BUGM Mr. Jericho Go, for mentorship. I have learned and continue to benefit a lot from his vast experience in office space leasing.

How would you describe the challenges in corporate leasing and what strategies do you employ to navigate these challenges effectively?

In corporate leasing, my main challenge lies in offering spaces that effectively meet clients' needs regarding location, financial terms, regulatory compliance, and efficient building management. Timing is crucial – even if a property possesses these qualities, its value diminishes if not available when needed. Robinsons Offices has a robust pipeline of projects in prime locations, ensuring timely fulfillment of market demands.

Is being a female an advantage or disadvantage in this line of work?

In general, I don’t think gender is a determining factor of success in corporate leasing. The more important factors are your competency, negotiation skills, market knowledge and your relationship with your clients.

If you could go back in time, what would you have done differently in your career and in your personal life?

Honestly, I'm quite content with the path I've taken, both in my career and my personal life. Each decision, each experience has made me into what I am today. I've learned valuable lessons in each success and challenge that I've experienced. There have been moments of reflection, but I think everything happens for a reason and I wouldn't change a thing. If there absolutely has to be one thing, I wouldn't waste too much time on negative thinking. Positive thinking is really powerful. It's a whole prayer.

If you could give advice to a woman who is just starting in her career, what would it be?

Strive to leave every place you come to a better place. The old-fashioned qualities of honesty, integrity, respect for others. Regardless of their status in life, these qualities strive to perfect yourself in them and you can never go wrong.
