A homegrown Filipino hotel brand has conquered the Asian luxury hospitality scene.

Fili Hotel Bridgetowne, an upcoming property of Robinsons Hotels and Resorts (RHR), has been named Asia’s Leading New Luxury Hotel Development Project 2026 by the World Travel Awards.

The World Travel Awards is an annual international program recognizing excellence across the global travel, tourism and hospitality industries. The distinction affirms the confidence of Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) and its hospitality division, RHR, in Filipino talent and enterprise.

Fili Hotel Bridgetowne won ahead of three other hotel development projects in its category, validating RLC’s belief that Filipino companies can create homegrown luxury brands and experiences capable of competing on an international stage.

Expected to open in 2027, the hotel will bring Fili – the first and the only Filipino 5-star brand to Metro Manila, extending the brand’s presence beyond its flagship property at NUSTAR Integrated Resort in Cebu.

The WTA recognition carries particular significance for Fili, which RHR positions as the country’s premier and only homegrown Filipino five-star hotel brand.

“Nearly five years ago, Robinsons Land took a bold step in creating Fili, the Philippines’ first homegrown five-star hotel brand developed by a Filipino real estate company. Today, its recognition by the World Travel Awards, alongside RHR’s second consecutive win as the Philippines’ Leading Hotel Group, reinforces our belief that Filipino talent and enterprise can create world-class luxury hospitality experiences. This is an important gateway for us to bring the warmth and character of Philippine hospitality to Asia,” said RLC President and CEO Mybelle V. Aragon-GoBio.

The 2026 World Travel Awards also recognized RHR as the Philippines’ Leading Hotel Group. This award is a great testament to RHR’s country-wide presence with 27 owned hotel properties and more than 4,000 room keys give the group an extensive base of operating experience across 10 brands, ranging from luxury and upscale hotels to midscale and essential-value stays. This scale, supported by expertise in hotel operations, revenue management, and guest service, provides a foundation for growing Fili while maintaining quality as the brand expands.

Fili takes its name from “Filipino,” and its design draws on local art, craftsmanship, and the history of its destinations. These details give the brand a distinct cultural character, allowing Philippine heritage to shape the luxury experience.

Behind that experience are talented Filipino professionals whose education, training, creativity, and attention to detail are essential to delivering the brand’s promise.

“This award is a great validation of all the hard work done by the phenomenal team of Robinsons Hotels and Resorts,” said RLC Senior Vice President and RHR Business Unit General Manager Barun Jolly.

Grand Summit Hotel General Santos received the Philippines’ Leading City Hotel, while Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu was named the Philippines’ Leading Family Resort.

At the Sept. 27 WTA ceremony, Jolly attributed RHR’s success to two principal strengths: its diversified network, which serves different market segments and destinations, and the way its people care for guests. He described “Hospitality by Heart” as RHR’s service ethos, saying the team “delivers it to a T.”

“Let’s deliver true, genuine, empathetic service and let people remember the time they spend with us,” he said.

RHR’s extensive network reaches 20 locations across the Philippines, including Tagaytay in Cavite, Cebu, General Santos, Davao, Iligan, Butuan, Bacolod, Iloilo, Dumaguete, and Tacloban. This regional reach supports RLC’s first-mover advantage, built on identifying opportunities in growing markets and investing in destinations beyond the country’s most established tourism centers. Its hotels connect travelers with more destinations while creating hospitality careers closer to home.

Fili builds on Robinsons Land’s track record of developing luxury properties such as The Westin Manila and NUSTAR Hotel Cebu. RLC was named Best Developer in the Philippines for the fourth consecutive year at the 2025 PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards, where Fili Hotel Bridgetowne also received Best Hotel Development. These achievements demonstrate the company’s ability to turn its hospitality vision into thoughtfully designed, world-class properties.

For Fili Hotel Bridgetowne, the latest honor represents more than a prestigious international accolade. It puts a distinctly Filipino luxury hospitality brand on the Asian map—and signals Robinsons Land’s ambition to bring the warmth, service, and character of Philippine hospitality to a broader international audience.
