Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) announced the continuation of its strong partnership with Manila Electric Company (Meralco) to ensure reliable and sustainable power solutions for its existing and upcoming projects.

Through a recent executive engagement, Meralco presented a comprehensive development plan that caters to the specific power needs of RLC’s commercial and residential developments. This includes providing timely energization for key projects like Sierra Valley in Rizal and The Jewel in Mandaluyong City, both scheduled for completion by 2026.

"We are excited to partner with Meralco to further our mission of promoting sustainable development. This partnership will enable us to provide our customers and residents with energy-efficient solutions that are both environmentally friendly and economically viable. Together, we are not only reaching significant milestones but also paving the way for future innovations and growth. Our commitment to excellence and sustainable development reaffirms our shared vision for a brighter, more resilient future,” said Lance Y. Gokongwei, President and CEO of RLC.

RLCs collaboration with Meralco has spanned operational efficiencies and sustainability initiatives. Over the past five years, various projects has been undertaken including:

  • Installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems at NUSTAR Resort and Casino, facilitated by Meralco's solar subsidiary, MSpectrum.
  • Equipping several Robinsons Malls with electric vehicle charging stations through Meralco's sustainable mobility arm, Movem.
  • Participation in the government's Interruptible Load Program (ILP) with 10 Robinsons Malls strategically located within Meralco's franchise area. Through this program, RLC contributes 31 MW of de-loading capacity, helping to alleviate unplanned power interruptions for households and small businesses.

“Meralco and RLC’s fruitful collaboration over the years take centerstage in our business review session. Aside from providing world-class and innovative energy solutions, our goal is to assess progress, identify areas for enhancement, and strategically align efforts towards shared success,” said Meralco Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer Ferdinand O. Geluz.

“It is our mandate as the country’s largest distribution utility to provide utmost support and deliver exceptional service to our customers to drive success for businesses and communities, which play a significant role in propelling our growth as a nation,” Meralco Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Ronnie L. Aperocho concluded.
