The Department of Energy (DOE), in partnership with Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC), officially launched “O.N.E.: Oras Natin sa Efficiency” at Robinsons Galleria Ortigas, introducing a nationwide advocacy campaign that encourages Filipinos to adopt practical and consistent energy-saving habits.

“Sustainability remains an important part of how we operate and engage with the communities we serve,” said Robinsons Land President and CEO Mybelle V. Aragon-GoBio, emphasizing the role of private sector participation in bringing energy-saving practices into everyday settings. “At a time when responsible energy use has become increasingly critical, we recognize the role of the private sector in translating sustainability goals into practical, everyday action. Through our partnership with the Department of Energy, we are proud to support initiatives that encourage awareness and participation in energy-efficient practices across communities nationwide.”

The O.N.E. campaign invites households, businesses, institutions, and public establishments to join a coordinated weekly energy reduction window every Saturday from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. by switching off non-essential lighting and reducing unnecessary electricity use.

DOE Secretary Sharon S. Garin highlighted the role of households, businesses, and communities in supporting the country’s energy efficiency efforts.

“Energy efficiency is not only a government responsibility — it is a shared responsibility among households, businesses, and communities. Through O.N.E., we hope to inspire Filipinos to embrace simple yet meaningful practices that contribute to a more energy-efficient nation,” Garin said.

Through Robinsons Malls, Robinsons Land will support the campaign by safely shutting down or dimming non-essential lighting across its properties nationwide during the scheduled hour. These include decorative, accent, and display lights, as well as lights in areas that are not in active use, provided safety and essential operations are maintained.

“At Robinsons Malls, we recognize that sustainability must be translated into everyday operational practices across our developments. Our participation in the DOE’s O.N.E. campaign reinforces our commitment to reduce energy consumption while maintaining comfort and service for our customers,” said Faraday Go, Executive Vice President of Robinsons Land and Group Business Unit General Manager of Robinsons Malls and Robinsons Destination Estates.

The campaign builds on Robinsons Land’s broader energy conservation efforts. In line with its mission of Building Better Lives, the company continues to apply energy-efficient technologies, solar power systems, optimized LED lighting, and natural daylight design as part of its long-term approach to responsible property operations.

With its nationwide mall network and property operations experience, Robinsons Land is positioned to help bring the campaign closer to mall customers, tenants, and surrounding communities while supporting efforts to track quantifiable energy savings.

The launch brought together key government officials, local government representatives, and private sector leaders in support of the O.N.E. campaign. Through this initiative, the DOE and Robinsons Malls aim to encourage wider public participation in energy conservation by showing how small, consistent actions can contribute to responsible energy use.
