Robinsons Malls recently conducted a series of community service involving barangays in Mandaluyong and Imus, Cavite. Through its The Gift of Sight project, over 1,000 beneficiaries will receive brand new pairs of eye glasses and reading glasses.
Through The Gift of Sight, over 700 beneficiaries from Amado Reyes and Ilaya Brangka Elementary School in Mandaluyong were able to receive free eye examination as well as reading glasses. The beneficiaries also attended a free lecture on hygienic practices to prevent eye diseases. As part of its added service, single and double-vision eyeglasses will be given to those who need it personalized to match and correct their vision. With their improved vision, the students as well as their guardians will be able to pursue a better quality of life for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Earlier this month, Robinsons Malls The Gift of Sight hosted nearly 500 local city citizens for a free eye examination. Eye glasses were distributed, mostly to the elderly. Continuing this noble cause, the 3rd leg of The Gift of Sight for this month will happen in Robinsons North Tacloban. Indigent citizens from neighboring communities will have the opportunity to have their eyes checked and receive free eyeglasses.
The Gift of Sight project was made possible through the Robinsons Malls The Gift of Change, a coin bank donation campaign which aims to generate funds to support its existing beneficiaries all over the Philippines and various CSR projects focused on health, community development and recycling projects including Pailaw sa Barangay, Binyagang Bayan, Libreng Bakuna and Bike for Change.
To date, more than 3,000 pairs of eyeglasses were given for the benefit of indigent citizens and serve residents in Metro Manila (Quezon City, Manila, Malabon and Las Piñas), Pangasinan, Pampanga, Batangas, Bacolod, Dumaguete, Cebu and Malolos.

Apart from the eye check-up, participants of Robinsons Malls The Gift of Sight project also listened to a lecture from the experts on hygienic practices to prevent eye diseases and on how to take good care of their glasses.
