Robinsons Novaliches takes recycling up a notch as it commenced its waste trading event dubbed as Robinsons Recycling Olympics. This project gives the public the opportunity to exchange waste paper, plastic, bottles and cans into cash. And what’s better? The converted cash are intended to be spent on activities for a cause. In partnership with Quezon City’s Environmental Protection and Waste Management Department, Robinsons Novaliches, through Robinsons Recycling Market and Recycling Olympics, strengthens the responsible practice of recycling within the community while providing additional income stream for households and organizations. Robinsons Novaliches conceptualized the program to further support the local government’s thrust to implement civic consciousness programs on environmental and waste management. Robinsons Recycling Olympics participants are categorized into three- Residential (Homeowners Association or Barangay), Academia (Public or Private School, any level; Student Organization) and Private Institutions (Private Company, Stores and NGOs) which are all located nearby Robinsons Novaliches including North Caloocan and San Jose Del Monte. If you and your organization want to be part of the Recycling Olympics, simply fill-out the registration forms available at Robinsons Novaliches’s Information booth at Level 1, Expansion Building. Top three (3) organizations will be awarded as Recycling Champions per category- one Grand Champion; one 1st Runner Up; and one Second Runner Up. Waste Market Champions will be determined based on their performance on two (2) major categories – Waste Collection Turnover and CSR Component. Each organization should first participate in at least six (6) out of nine (9) monthly Robinsons Recycling Market scheduled every Friday and Saturday of the month starting March, from 10 am to 4 pm. During each waste trading, waste items shall be segregated and weighed after which, organizations will be asked to fill-out a scrap selling form. Using the money earned (green fund) from the turnover, each organization shall conduct their CSR pr oject not later than November 15. The CSR component shall be evaluated by its impact to the community/beneficiaries, innovativeness, and extra-ordinary execution. Winners shall be announced in December.
