The airport, which opened last March 2017 after its expansion, serves as the tourists’ gateway to the different attractions of the island such as El Nido and Puerto Princesa’s Underground River. An estimated 1.2 to 1.3 million tourists are expected to visit Palawan from the airport so it becomes unavoidable that litters are left in the airport.
